There I am, minding my own business (again!) when Tash came round the corner.
Hello! I say.
Come on, put your shoes on we're going for a walk!
Off I go, after a little wee break! Hmm thinks I! Tash is fibbing (she really is a bad liar!)
Down the corridor with Bob (AKA my drip stand) Open a door and what do I see?
Yup! You guessed it.....what every patient of the Royal Infirmary should expect, their family sitting in a circle around a table of party food wearing silly glasses, hats and noses!
A buffet of finger food, a birthday cake, a round of happy birthday and a game of pass the parcel!
Now most people would be overwhelmed by this massive, thoughtful gesture, as was i until i realised that it hadn't finished.
Oh no. Not until my father and brother in law did the 'boom tech' dance,
my mother and father had a competition of who could stuff the most marshmallows in their mouth, whilst saying fluffy bunny rabbits!
A call from my brother, nephew and niece singing and telling jokes.
And topped off by my newest brother in law doing an impression of a constipated lizard.
I mean, people think my family are weird. I don't know why. Is that not completely normal behaviour for visiting time at the LRI?
On a more serious note...
I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart. I was overwhelmed by the thought and the effort they went to, to make this stay more bearable.
I know how much they love me and I hope they know how much I love them (even Dad!)
Watch the madness!
